After perfecting the kayak outboard motor with the Bixpy K-1, Bixpy CEO Houman Nikmanesh is perfecting the outboard motor battery. His most recent effort is the PP-768 Outboard Battery. Completely waterproof, shock and dirt resistant, easy to use and more powerful than predecessors, the PP-768 takes outboard batteries to the next level.
Bixpy Releases Tougher, More Powerful Lithium Iron Battery
To start, the new battery is lighter and smaller than the previous version. A built-in carry handle makes it easy to remove at the end of the fishing trip. Gear tracks on top of the battery provide space to install rod holders or other accessories on the motor.
At the heart of the system is a lithium-iron battery that is completely safe. To make the battery easy to maintain and update, the PP-768 uses modular components that can be disassembled in seconds. If one component of the battery breaks down, or to update the controls, an owner can easily switch out parts.
The PP-768 is designed to power Bixpy’s K-1 brushless impeller motor. A brushless motor improves efficiency and durability by replacing analog power control with digital control. Instead of a traditional propellor, the Bixpy K-1 uses an impeller like a jet engine turbine. The result is a smaller, lighter motor that is easier to adapt to any kayak, paddleboard, skiff or canoe without losing power or wasting energy.
Using a hand-held remote, I can adjust between 13 forward speeds including and extra “warp-speed” and three reverse speeds. Combined with the PP-768 battery, I can run the K-1 at full speed for two hours or trolling speed for 24 hours. A simple LED battery power indicator allows me to monitor the battery level.
Everyone knows speed isn’t cheap. The Bixpy PP-768 costs almost $1,000. Combined with the K-1 motor, I can power my kayak for $1,700. In addition to motors and batteries, Bixpy offers a wide range of mounting options to fit any boat or board. I admit, the Bixpy system isn’t cheap. But when I’m fishing far from the launch, convenience and reliability are worth the price.
