Anglers looking for a standup paddleboard that is easy to transport and store and tough enough to fish should take a look at the Rum Runner, from Point 65, the worlds first modular SUP. The Point 65 Rum Runner uses Point65’s proven, proprietary and patented Snap Tap system to connect the boat’s three sections.
“The board widely exceeds our expectations and is the best modular craft we have designed,” said Richard Ohman of Point 65. “The best thing about it is that besides being modular, it is by far the coolest looking plastic SUP out there and the best performing one.”
The EVA padding on the top deck provides all-day comfort and solid grip. The rear fin helps the board track straight, but it can be retracted for plying shallow water. The board can be fit with an AIR seat pad for sit-down paddling. Anglers will also love the watertight oval front hatch for storing gear and the day’s catch.
The Rum Runner is in production, currently shipping to more than 25 countries and will be widely available at REI, LL Bean and many other retail stores in a few weeks. It is available in eight different colors and two sizes: 11.5′ (MSRP $999) and 12.5′ (MSRP $1,099).
