The rapids, rocks and pools of the Susquehanna River proved to provide an action-packed smallmouth venue for the Hobie Bass Open Series on July 30-31. According to Hobie Fishing, the 2022 Susquehanna event of the Hobie BOS saw a record number of catches. Ultimately Nolan Minor won this stage of the annual series. Minor beat out 192 anglers with a 187.75″ total over two days. The Virginia angler also earned a $10,500 check. Not a bad way to spend a weekend smallmouth fishing.
Minor Brothers Top The Podium At Susquehanna Hobie BOS 2022
Nolan Minor wasn’t the only angler sharing the family name to find the podium on the Susquehanna. Younger brother Ewing Minor finished the weekend with a total catch of 185.75″. It was nearly the second win of the 2022 Hobie BOS for Ewing, who won on Broken Bow Lake earlier this year.
The results of the 2022 Susquehanna Hobie BOS showed just how productive summer smallmouth fishing on the Susquehanna can be. The Minor brothers were trailed closely by Jake Harshman. The difference between first and third place, a mere three inches.
Nolan Minor and Harshman join Ewing with an invitation to compete in the 2022 Hobie Tournament of Champions. The crowning event is scheduled for November 11-13, 2022 on Caddo Lake in Louisiana.
