I have always been jealous of my friends who built sturdy rigging stands out of hardware store supplies. Not only can they store their kayak on the stand, they can use the stand to rig their boats and even load the kayak into the truck bed. I don’t have the skills or tools to build a birdhouse, so I’ve been using Suspenz Heavy Duty folding kayak stands to rig my kayak, but the HD doesn’t have wheels or storage space for my tools and gear.
First Look: Suspenz YellowFin Rigging Station
Luckily, Suspenz takes pity on unskilled woodworkers with their new Yellowfin Rigging Station. Just like the homemade models, the Yellowfin is easy to roll on caster wheels and it has customizable pockets and shelves to hold tools and accessories while I’m working on the boat.
Unlike my friends’ bulky, heavy wooden kayak carts, the Suspenz Yellowfin folds flat to carry and store anywhere. Suspenz makes all their carts corrosion and weather-resistant, so I store my cart outside under a tarp.
I also like the durable fabric slings that cradle and secure any hull shape from a full-size fishing kayak to a canoe or standup paddleboard. When I’m reviewing kayaks for Kayak Angler magazine, I rig and customize a variety of boats. With a capacity of 350 pounds and a 39-inch-wide platform, the Suspenz Yellowfin can handle any size fishing kayak.
Now I don’t have to be jealous of my master carpenter friends. Suspenz Yellowfin’s features and storage and rigging convenience to make my skilled friends jealous of my kayak cart.
