I’ll full on admit it, I’m a coffee snob. I’ll take cheap gas station coffee (pro tip: McDonald’s coffee is pretty good and strong actually), but after a few days on the road I need something a little better. And stronger. The GSI Outdoors JavaPress (30oz), $29.95, kept me going strong with high quality coffee on my entire two week cross country road trip and I never missed my home french press once.
Just like your normal french press, you make coffee in the JavaPress by filling it with hot water and coffee grounds. After letting the coffee grounds steep for four minutes, depress the plunger (slowly) and you’ll have strong, fresh coffee ready to pour. The only differnce with this french press is that it’s made to move, and to last season after season.
The lightweight, BPA-free and shatter-resistant french press is wrapped in a comfortable and smart looking wrap that protects it and also adds grip. The lid securely locks into place so you won’t spill any goodness and the 30oz size lets you make two cups, one for you and one for your fishing (or road trip) buddy. GSI Outdoors also offers a 50oz version for the true coffee gluttons. This is one coffee maker you need to add to your essential fishing kit for true all day, or multi-day, adventures.
