For 2024, NRS has upped their life jacket tech, and the fishing lineup is no exception. We took a first look at the new NRS Zander.
The Zander starts with NRS’s Orbital Fit System. Orbital Fit is made with multi-piece layers of closed-cell foam, allowing a curvature that more conforms to your body. Along these same lines, the Zander utilizes what is called graded sizing. Rather than the only difference between a medium or large life jacket being the strap lengths, graded sizing provides differing amounts of foam from one size to the next. This means the PFD will have appropriate flotation and bulk for the life jacket that best fits you.
“Paddlers get an even more customizable fit, better than they’ve ever had before,” Blake Longworth of NRS told us at Canoecopia in March of 2024.
For the Zander, NRS has also added built-in compatibility with their Swig Hydration Pack for long days on the water.
For those seeking out the exciting angler specific features, the Zander includes accessory attachment loops and a magnetic plier tab on the front pocket to keep your tool handy. And of course, plenty of storage space in the dual, semi-rigid utility pockets.
