Fans of Backwater Paddle Company’s popular Assault hand paddle can now get the same functionality in a full length kayak paddle. The Assassin kayak paddle is available on Indiegogo, which will support Backwater in producing the new paddles for the masses.
Like the hand paddle, the Assassin features the Backwater “hook and teeth” blade design, which lets you grab docks, line, rope or gear that you need to pull towards you, or grip rocks, docks or trees to securely push off and not slip. I will admit that there have been a few close calls while trying to push off of docks with my other paddles and nearly flipping my boat, but I’ve never slipped while using a Backwater paddle.
The Backwater Paddle Company needs you in order to bring the Assassin kayak paddle to market. Instead of going to private investors, they decided to use crowdfunding to provide a deal for their customers and bring the paddles to the masses earlier. Click here to pick up an Assassin kayak paddle of your own and support the project.
