In the sea of hybrid kayaks, Sea Eagle rides the crest with a full line of kayak, standup paddleboard, skiff options. The latest wave combines a SUP with a catamaran resulting in the SUP Cat 10.

Two drop-stitched pontoons are joined by a metal-frame deck topped with an elevated swivel chair. The design is stable to stand and fish from bow to stern or sit and spin in on the seat.

The SUP Cat can be paddled with a SUP paddle or powered by an electric trolling motor or reach speeds of eight miles-per-hour with a 2.3 horse-power gas motor.

The inflatable weighs 42 pounds and can be rigged with fold-away wheels to make transport easier.

Two Scotty rod holders and two Scotty accessory bases round out the rigging.

The SUP Cat base model comes with a storage bag and SUP paddle for $999.

Ric Burnley
“Thank God my dad wasn’t a podiatrist,” jokes Ric about following in the footsteps of a famous outdoor writer. After graduating from Radford University and serving two years in Russia with the Peace Corps, Ric returned to Virginia Beach and started writing for The Fisherman magazine, where his dad was editor. When the kayak fishing scene exploded, Ric was among the first to get onboard. His 2007 book, The Complete Kayak Fisherman is one of the first tomes to introduce anglers to paddle fishing and hundreds of articles and seminars have brought countless anglers into the fold. When he’s not chasing every fish that swims, Ric teaches English at a school for at-risk teens.
