With the explosion of kayak fishing it’s no surprise that more and more designers are coming out of the woodwork with their own designs and trying to add innovation to the market. Martin Kradin has spent years designing what he calls the Pedal Drive Pontoon Boat, which is a catamaran-style inflatable with a pedestal-style seat (like a bass boat) in the center.
A pedal drive system, designed after the pedal drive of a bicycle and with the ability to go forwards or backwards, is designed with “Visual Steering,” a unique patent-pending design. Essentially, the seat is mounted and connected with your rudder so that wherever you look, the system will use your body’s movement and turn the rudder to point you in the direction that you’re looking.
Would you fish out of this boat? What would you want to change or what do you like about the design? Let us know in a comment below!
