I'm a lifelong angler with a passion for catching all kinds of fish—and lots of them! My drive has always been to design the most effective baits possible and to share that knowledge with other anglers. I'm the designer & creater of Hookup Baits, a brand built from experience, innovation, and a deep love for fishing. Over the years, I've been fortunate to win multiple Saltwater Bass championships and earn several angler of the Year titles. I'm also proud to be a two-time member of the USA Saltwater Kayak Fishing Team. I live in beautiful San Diego, CA with my love Jojo, co-owner of Hookup Baits. It's here in San Diego that all Hookup Baits are 100% American made by our great team of employees.

Favorite Technique: Throwing a Hookup Bait isn't just my favorite technique—it's my only technique! I use Hookup Baits for everything: crappie, panfish, bass, salmon, trout and all saltwater species. You name it, Hookup Baits catch it! I fish them with total confidence, and that confidence makes all the difference. I haven't tied on another lure in ten years, and I don't plan to. No matter where I'm fishing or what I'm after, it's Hookup Baits all the way!

I describe myself as a college strength and conditioning coach pretending to be a professional fisherman. I compete at the highest level I can as often as possible when it comes to fishing, but my full-time job will always come first. At the conclusion of my college hockey career, I bought a kayak just to fill the time, but it didn’t take long to find a way to fill my need for competition. I am grateful every day for the opportunities this sport has given me to make new friendships, explore the outdoors, and continue to compete after a college hockey career. Everything I get to do with kayak fishing is a blessing that wouldn’t be possible without the support of my wife Chelsey, and daughter, Winnie. Aside from what kayak fishing has already given me, it has been a great way to connect with my family, share a piece of what is important to me with them, and exciting to see my daughter enjoy the sport I love.

Favorite Technique: My favorite technique is a chatterbait! If I know I am going to be fishing a lot of grass flats I usually throw it on the Scenko Stix 7'6 ChatterTrap 2.0. If I plan to fish around a variety of different cover such as grass, docks, and laydowns, etc. I use a custom Scenko Stix 7'2 Chattertrap 2.0 which is probably my favorite rod that I own. I got really into fishing when I lived in Florida and fell in love with running the chatterbait through grass. When I moved up to South Carolina, I lost some confidence because of the lack of grass in the lakes here, but as I spent more time here, I just learned how much more versatile the lure was than I originally expected.

Body of Water: My favorite body of water is Lake Murray here in South Carolina. Aside from the fact that I can find a good chatterbait bite often, it offers some of the BEST topwater action I have ever had!
