Traveling all around the country from my truck bed, shooting episode for Kayak Angler’s web series Hook, Line & Paddle means that if I want water, I need to bring it with me. My truck is loaded with gear, but I didn’t bring the kitchen sink. Sometimes, if I run out of water, or if I’m on the water and temperatures are high, I need a way to get water quickly and easily. Known for being the best in the business, the GRAYL filter water bottles are the best way to gather clean and safe drinking water, without worrying if you’ll regret it back at camp later on.
The Quest water bottle with GRAYL’s Trail Filter, $59.95, not only allows you to scoop up water and filter it so it’s safe to drink within 15 seconds, but it’s also designed to improve the taste and smell. I honestly can’t tell most of the time that I’m drinking filtered water, it tastes the same as the water I pack into my truck bed for every trip.
An activated carbon core is designed to protect against waterborne bacteria and protozoan cysts. The flip lock lid lets me keep the water bottle sealed when I’m lugging gear to and from camp and I can even chug water without the lid, after it’s been filtered. Another great feature of the Quest is that it’s interchangeable with GRAYL’s whole line of filters and purifiers.
Pobably the coolest feature is the speed this filter takes. Simply fill the water bottle, insert the cap/filter and press it down like a french press. The easiest and simplest way to get clean way is also the fastest. The Quest with Trailer Filter is available in two colors, grey or blue and it’s dishwasher safe, making for an easy clean up once you get back from your trip.
