Rapala’s new Fisherman’s Multi Tool will let you focus on catching fish, not finding a tool.

My favorite kind of tool is on that consolidates. Something that takes a handful of tools and combines it into one smart design. That’s why I was immediately drawn to Rapala’s new Fisherman’s Multi Tool, $19.99, a compact tool that could fit in a PFD pocket but packs a big, helpful punch of essential tools. The most useful tool, or at least the one you’ll most likely use more often, are the retractable line scissors which are designed to cut through any type of line like butter.

The die-cast metal frame is paired with a soft grip handle for a grip that won’t slip, but still remains comfortable even after a long day. So don’t have to hold it all day, a durable carabiner clip keeps the multi tool close while you fish, and it also doubles as a bottle opener to end those perfect days with a cold one back at camp.

The Rapala Fisherman's Multi Tool has more than a handful of essential fishing tools.

A retractable jig buster, which can clear your new jigs’ hook eyes from build up or paint aren’t necessary, since you can just use a hook, but since it comes in a handy tool, it is helpful. Many anglers, especially aging ones, will love the built-in line threader, designed to accomodate multiple sizes and styles of line. Now you can quickly change lures and get back to the action, instead of cursing your straining eyes or light leaders. Or both.
