Ever since I first saw the new Magseal technology from Daiwa at ICAST 2015, I was blown away with the concept. After testing out their Ballistic EX spinning reel last summer, I’m totally hooked on the technology. Why have a reel without Magseal ever again? I don’t know if I could.
Daiwa’s new Zillion HD baitcaster features the same Magseal technology in an inshore winch of a baitcaster. The reel has a gear ratio of 7.3:1 and backs up that speed with enough power to stop any fish, a total of 15.4 of drag. Talk about a one, two punch knockout setup. To make sure you can use all that speed and power, Daiwa also designed the reel with a 100 mm Swept Handle with an EVA custom knob for added control and leverage.
