After a quiet year of reorganization and design behind closed doors, Perception and Wilderness Systems hit the water with both feet, introducing six new kayaks at ICAST 2019. The new flagship is the Perception Outlaw 11.5.
Perception’s Outlaw 11.5 Hits the Shelves
Playing off the design of Wilderness Systems’ A.T.A.K. stand-up kayak, the Outlaw starts with a wide-open deck and fold-away seat. The boat accommodates fish finder rigging and gear tracks. Perception has included ball mounts they call “solo mounts” to attach rod holders and other accessories.
Innovative double-barrel rod holders on either side of the seat hold a rod at trolling angle or for transport.
The Outlaw 11.5 has styling and accessories found on more expensive boats, all for only $699. The Outlaw will be available in late November 2019.
Other News at Perception and Wilderness Systems
Coming in 2020, Wilderness Systems will add a Recon 120 and Patrol 120 fishing kayaks. Building on the standup capabilities of the A.T.A.K., the new boats will have a huge bow well and high seat.
The Patrol is the paddle version and the Recon will offer Wildy’s new Helix pedal drive that looks to be simpler and stronger than previous pedal systems. The Patrol will sell for $1,099 and the pedal-powered Recon for $2,199.
