Aquaglides Blackfoot inflatable kayaks and SUPs are built tough for fishing.

Aquaglide has been making inflatable attractions for years; now they’ve taken their technology to inflatable SUPs and kayaks. Thier Blackfoot line is intelligently designed for fishing. The boats are built with drop-stitched floors and sturdy construction that is doubled up and over engineered. They’ve added Scotty bases to the deck of the SUP and gunnels of the kayak that accept a long list of Scotty accessories. We also like the high/low seat for better paddling and sight fishing. And the velcro foot rest provides support for stronger paddling. The SUP has D-rings down each side and other tie downs to add more accessories.

“Thank God my dad wasn’t a podiatrist,” jokes Ric about following in the footsteps of a famous outdoor writer. After graduating from Radford University and serving two years in Russia with the Peace Corps, Ric returned to Virginia Beach and started writing for The Fisherman magazine, where his dad was editor. When the kayak fishing scene exploded, Ric was among the first to get onboard. His 2007 book, The Complete Kayak Fisherman is one of the first tomes to introduce anglers to paddle fishing and hundreds of articles and seminars have brought countless anglers into the fold. When he’s not chasing every fish that swims, Ric teaches English at a school for at-risk teens.
