3 Waters has quickly gained fans with a value-priced standup kayak now adds a pedal drive to the family. The Big Fish 108 shares the stable cathedral hull for unshakable stability with the other 3 Waters boats.

A large covered compartment in the bow has a retractable transducer mount that lifts the sonar puck out of the water when the boat is beached.

The boat has flushmount rod holders and vertical holders with rod tip protectors. The mesh, frame seat has a high and low position.

But the star of the show is the new Profish pedal drive. The drive is sealed so there is no maintenance.

The pedals use a chain to drive the propeller, for increased torque and a more solid transfer of power from the paddler to the water.

A generous beavertail rudder is large to turn the big boat under pedal power.

Ric Burnley
“Thank God my dad wasn’t a podiatrist,” jokes Ric about following in the footsteps of a famous outdoor writer. After graduating from Radford University and serving two years in Russia with the Peace Corps, Ric returned to Virginia Beach and started writing for The Fisherman magazine, where his dad was editor. When the kayak fishing scene exploded, Ric was among the first to get onboard. His 2007 book, The Complete Kayak Fisherman is one of the first tomes to introduce anglers to paddle fishing and hundreds of articles and seminars have brought countless anglers into the fold. When he’s not chasing every fish that swims, Ric teaches English at a school for at-risk teens.
